First spotted at WanFesu not long ago if I'm not mistaken. Anyone who wants cheaper and smaller (cuter?) Nendoroid can go for this series. Looks more like trading figures. 2 types for each character plus Haruhi in cheerleader outfit. Kyon looks so ugly (@@)

Beauty and the Beast

Back from a field trip, I'm excited to know that Hideo Kojima revealed the bosses for Metal Gear Solid 4 last week during GC 2007 at Leipzig, Germany. Known as Beauty and the Beast Unit, the bosses are beasts, but underneath they are beauties.

The boss design for MGS series never seized to amaze me. This time more wild and animal-like. They are human transformed by battle or war victims.

I'm not posting anymore pictures of the beasts cos it's better to watch the beasts in action. The video is in WMV format. I've added the video at the end of the page but the beast part only appears at the second half of the trailer. These characters are actually based on real life beauties from different parts of the world.

Lyndall Jarvis, a model for American and Europeans brands such as 'Guess', 'Bebe' and 'Ella Moss'.

Scarlett Chorvat, a fashion model who performed in advertisements like 'Ritz Carlton', 'Lee Jeans' and 'Diet Coke'. Also performed in some movies and TV dramas like 'Entourage' and '24'.

Mieko Rye, a fashion model, featured in Maxim.

Last but not least, a Japanese babe- Yumi Kikuchi (菊地由美). Graduated from New York, Tokyo based DJ, actress, and Hidechan Radio host.

Fräulein Revoltech

With the release of Saber, Saber Alter and Yotsuba, you may think the second line of Revoltech is dedicated for female characters but wait till you see this new line of Revoltech, Fräulein Revoltech. The new Revoltech line was revealed by Kaiyodo during the Wonder Festival 2007 Summer.

Revoltech Rin Tosaka from Fate/stay night and Revoltech Rei Ayanami from Evangelion.

The Revoltech uses better revolver joint and it seems that the joints are well hidden. I guess Kaiyodo releases this ladies edition Revoltech to compete with recently established Max Factory's Figma. The Revoltech Rei reminds me of Volks Rei.

Fräulein Revoltech Rei Ayanami
Product By: Kaiyodo
Scale/Height: 150mm
Price: TBA
Release Date: December 2007

Next release will be this chick from the cover of Shunya Yamashita's Sweet Dreams and Asuka Langley from Evangelion.

Wonder Festival 2007 Summer

The long awaited event is finally happening again. I'm so busy with looking at the event reports from various websites. Lucky I had a submission today and I can spare my time checking out the picture galore. Here are some of the highlights taken from various websites.

Kotobukiya is making a Seena figure as well and it looks gorgeous. There's a picture of Kureha between both Kotobukiya 1/8 Seena and Xecty figures. Does this indicate that Kotobukiya is making Kureha figure as well? Max Factory hasn't reveal 1/7 Seena figure yet but at least we get to know that the pose is sekushi! Other than that, Max Factory is also planning to release Crauchet figure from Ar Tonelico 2.

Finally, a figure for Claymore. The sword and cloak probably can be taken out. Its still not detail enough for me to buy it and I don't like the gap line on her head. Clare's eyes are wicked! To be released on November with the price of 5,775 yen, by MegaHouse. What's next? Theresa, Miria?

The 4th and 5th Shuraki Trinity Box, Needa Schuetlitch and Rizfis Luttiva Mente.

T-elos from Xenosaga. It's a 1/8 figure by Alter with the price of 6,090 yen. Release in January 2008.

Nendoroid Melissa Seraphy from WAGA Mama Capriccio. Release in January 2008.

Nendoroid Kotona Elegance from Zoids: Genesis. Release in December 2007.

Nendoroid Re Mii from Zoids: Genesis. Release in January 2008.

Nendoroid Al Azif from Demonbane. Release in February 2008. No sign of Nendoroid Ignis yet. Other new nendoroids include Tsuruya-san and Asakura Ryoko from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu as well as Minoru Shirasihi from Lucky Star.

Figma Nanoha

Figma Kanu Unchou from Ikki Tousen. Figma Saber and Rin will be made as well.

Yoko from Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann. Other new Figma figures include Lelouch from Code Geass and Asahina Mikuru.

Inferno Temptress Airi from Queen's Blade (5,250 yen). No release date yet.

Nix from Queen's Blade. Same price with Airi.

Shunya Yamashita's Red Elf by Kotobukiya.

Another Blood from Demonbane, by Alter.

Luka from Ar Tonelico 2 by Good Smile Company.

1/8 scale C.C. and Karen from Code Geass. Release in February 2008.

Rider from Fate/hollow ataraxia. This 1/8 Good Smile Company figure will be released in January 2008.

Another (slightly bigger eyes) Enma Ai figure (1/8) from Jigoku Shoujo. Product by Alter. Check here for more products by Alter.

Human mage 1/8 figure from Lineage II by Good Smile Company. The previously released Dark Elf can be seen behind.

This Rei Ayanami figure is looking good. moeyo has more pictures with colour. The 1/1 Rei has been revealed as well.

Lately there are getting more of Louise figures.

Ayase Fuka with Revoltech Yotsuba.

Konata garage kit from Lucky Star. HD has more pictures of Lucky Star and Haruhi kits.

1/7 Ignis garage kit (12,000 yen)

The booth babes are not worth to mention actually except the GSC+MF model but you can check them here or here for the cosplayers.

Most pictures above are taken from moeyo. Head on to other websites like GA Graphic, Heisei Democracy, Akiba blog, Hobby-Channel, Pellmellrush, Degeki Online, Famitsu あきばらいふ and Senka blog for the coverage. Don't forget to check the gallery and video taken by DannyChoo.

Gundam 00 @ Gundam Expo Tokyo 2007

UPDATED! 10:42pm, 19th August 2007- Trailer is up!

Here are a few images from the trailer shown during the Gundam Expo Tokyo 2007, taken from Famitsu.com. The trailer features the opening song, "DAYBREAK'S BELL" by L'Arc-en-Ciel. New characters (as seen in Newtype magazine) are revealed other than the characters we've seen in the previous trailers. As usual, Haro will appear in Gundam 00, as Lockon's companion. Gundam 00 will begin broadcast on 6th October 2007. Not really a fan of Gundam but I hope to see the trailer soon.

View the rest of the pictures at Famitsu and Dengeki Online. Check out the gunpla as well at GA Graphic. You can also view other Gundam merchandise from the expo here and here.

Some of the new characters and Gundam revealed in Newtype. From left- Patrick Corlasawar (AEU-09 AEU ENACT), Marina Ismail, Sergei Smirnov (MSJ-06II-A TIEREN), Saji Crossroad, Kinue Crossroad, Louise Halevy and Graham Acre (SVMS-01 UNION FLAG). The Gundam design looks organic except the Zaku-like TIEREN.

From left, Wang Liu Mi, Hong Rong, Christina Siera, Felt Grace, Lasse Aion, Noriega and Sumeragi Li Sumomo.

My blog seems pretty dead right now with only 3 posts this month but I'll update whenever I have the time. Even now I'm just taking my break time to write a short post. You may check out the blogroll at the sidebar as usually I don't post the same news and there are many interesting topics you may want to check.
